Supplying pretest binaries would offer some reassurance that the
process of building the binaries will not introduce problems that may
not be apparent on other systems building those by themselves.

It may appear somewhat late in the release process for this, but on
the other hand nobody betting against some particular release date has
yet to lose any money on the wager.
