I start by doing M-x vc-prepare-to-partial-checkin RET then I undo the parts that I don't want to install (usually with the help of C-x v = and diff-apply-hunk). and then I C-x v v (or `c' from the *cvs* buffer). But IIRC vc-prepare-to-partial-checkin is one of those local hacks I haven't installed in Emacs-CVS yet. Stefan
