That wasn't the problem I had in mind -- it was to find a consistent
way for the user to specify the resolution for a specific display.

E.g. something like

(x-set-display-resolution RESX RESY &optional DISPLAY)

will work, but that only works if DISPLAY uniquely identifies
a specific physical VDU.

I would rather have it be defined with defcustom.
