When I find the time I'll try to ask some questions on the GnuWin32
lists.
But I confess I'm growing disenchanted with the whole "image
support/GnuWin32 libraries/MSVC build" issue. It *is* unstable, errors
on input data bring Emacs to its knees, and it's all fragile
(configuration- and run-time-wise) beyond belief. I'm starting to think
it'd be good to build reference library binaries with MSVC for the
MSVC-built Emacs, and put them (and sources) somewhere in the net, with
a link from the Emacs docs. I'm glad the GCC build doesn't have the
problems.
Still, I'll try to find the time to add some info to nt/INSTALL and
etc/PROBLEMS before the 21.[45] release.
