Build on OSX 10.3?

Could someone please clue me in as to the status of building carbon 
emacs under osx 10.3?  I managed to build from current earlier today 
(oct 25), but it crashes as soon as I attempt any input.

I use the new Xcode developer stuff (gcc 3.3, etc)

I am probably doing something stupid, in that case please tell me so.  
I enclose the crash log (from osx).
