    Shutting Gnus down cleanly means to exit the current group, then exit
    Gnus.  But for saving a session, it would be useful to record which
    group was currently open, which article from that group was showing,
    and point and window-start in that article.

I agree, that would be useful to record.  Would someone like to
make desktop.el record it?
