Have you tried it?  I did, and found it quite annoying; bold is _too_
noticable, and the idea is to make the prompt clearly differentiated,
not to make it stand out more than the input.

On the other hand, I think it's good to have the user-editable text in
the minibuffer look like normal text.

These two reasons together are why I think it's a bad idea to use bold
at all.
