    C-x + runs balance-windows which only adjusts windows verticaly.  A
    version of this function should be created which balances both
    horizontal and vertical windows.

    It should take into account the width and height of the text in order to
    size the windows optimally.

I don't think this is an urgent need, but if it works it might be useful.
Would you like to try to write it?
