Killing of ediff control panel doesn't clean up ediff overlays in buffer

1. M-x vc-ediff RET

2. While in control panel, C-x k.  Or if using ido mode, cycle to diff
   control panel and C-k it.

3. See that the ediff overlays continue to reamain on the original
   buffer.

Expected behaviour: Kill operation should be treated as a "q" in control
panel.
