23.0.91; cvs emacs (on Mac) doesn't use the info files it comes with |

Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.
Your bug report will be posted to the address@hidden mailing list.
Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
I have Emacs from cvs built and installed locally on my Mac. ( make
install installs Emacs.app under <cvs-root>/nextstep) The Emacs info
manual that shows up within this is not the manual that is in the cvs
tree but is the manual from my Carbon Emacs installation.
I believe this is because the path Info-default-directory-list has the
wrong directory. It lists
<cvs-root>/nextstep/Emacs.app/Contents/Resources/share/info (and also
a bunch of other directory but nothing else is under Emacs.app). This
directory doesn't exist but this one does:
<cvs-root>/nextstep/Emacs.app/Contents/Resources/info (ie - there is
no share subdirectory under Resources). Therefore I guess
Info-directory-list gets initialized wrong.
In GNU Emacs 23.0.91.1 (i386-apple-darwin9.6.0, NS apple-appkit-949.43)
of 2009-03-23 on Sundar-Vasans-Computer.local

Thank you for the report. I am sorry no-one replied until now.
I believe this problem would occur if you had the INFOPATH environment
variable set before starting Emacs. I think this is now fixed in the
Emacs trunk.
