perl coloring not correct in emacs-22.3 |

With this script named test.pl
#############################################################################
@temp = split/\./, $osNum;
$osNum = $temp[0];
#############################################################################
emacs-22.3 -Q test.pl
The perl-mode coloring is not correct. The regex changes color but it
doesn't terminate and the rest of the script is that same color.
If you put
@temp = split(/\./, $osNum) ;
it works properly.
In GNU Emacs 22.3.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars)
of 2009-02-19 on zephyr
Windowing system distributor `The X.Org Foundation', version 11.0.60802000
configured using `configure '--prefix=/tools/wdtgnu/emacs-22.3'
'--disable-nls''

Whilst I see this in 22.3, it is fixed in 23.1 and up, so I suggest
upgrading.
