WORLD EDUCATION FORUM
Introduced on April the 10th. 2001, the World Education Forum first
began by disposing the homepage www.forummundialdeeducacao.com.br,
providing to the international community access to information about
the organization and the possibility to partake in the construction
of the Forum's Collective Letter.

The World Education Forum main Topic is:
EDUCATION ON THE GLOBALIZED WORLD
From 24th. to 27th. Of October 2001, Porto Alegre will site the most
spectacular Educators Meeting. Governments, Non-governmental
Organizations, Universities and Schools will get together with the
purpose of debating themes that deal with the daily conflicts, which
pierce the proposals for a comprising education.
Four links derive from the main topic:

THEMATIC REPORTS
The World Education Forum's height will be the visibility
given to projects that have been developed lately, with most
specific attention to experiences from Brazil, Latin America, Asia
and Africa.
The model used in the Thematic Reports will be the gathering
of methodological and organizational possibilities in workshops,
experience reports, and group debates. The Thematic Reports, at
last, may be considered as an exercise of dialogue about a
particular subject. The reports are located, according to the theme,
on the thematic debates.
While the World Education Forum's Organization Committee
organizes the Conferences and the Thematic Debates, the Thematic
Reports are responsibility of the applicant Institution or
Professional. Nevertheless the Organization Committee is assigned to
provide support and structure as well as equipment requested. The
Thematic Reports are going to happen simultaneously, on the 26th of
October, beginning at 2 PM.
REACH
Target: Educators and Students, Governmental and Non-Governmental
organizations, researchers and persons from all over the world, who
are interested on the Educational Debate.
Estimate: 15 thousands partakers are expected.
APPLICATIONS
1. Individual and Delegates Applications
1.1. Identify if the applications regards a delegate or not;
1.2. Fill in the identification form (name, address, e-mail, phone
and fax numbers, institution bonds, nationality, spoken languages)
1.3. Option for one of the four links offered;
1.4. Option for one of the Thematic Debates related to the chosen Link;
1.5. The option regarding the Thematic Reports shall be made
according to the programming that each partaker will receive on the
opening day (10/24/01), among the reports engraved on the chosen
Link.
1.6. International Application Fee: Individual- US$ 20,00 (twenty
American Dollars); Delegates- US$ 40,00 (forty American Dollars)*
1.7. Application fee must be paid through Credit Cards or Bank deposit
1.8. After filled the identification form must be sent, in case the
application done through the folder, together with the application
fee receipt, to the Organization Committee's address, (phone/fax 55
51 - 3214-1861)
2. Researches, Workshops and Reports Applications
2.1.The Author must inscribe his report with identification of the
institution/corporation (Universities, Studies and
Researches´Centers, Unions, Non-governmental organizations) the
author are representative or bonded to.
2.2. Author's Identification (name, address, phone/fax, profession,
Institution the author is bonded to, nationality, spoken languages,
résumé)
2.3. Report/ Workshop/ Researches identification (title, modality,
line of research, and Link related)
2.4. Summary of the Report/Workshop/ Research (up to 600
characters, sent by e-mail or disk to the organization committee)
2.5. Application is FREE
2.6. Identification of technical support necessary to the presentation.
2.7. Filled form and all further information requested must be sent
to the World Education Forum's Organization Committee up to July the
31st.
* These amounts will be raised in September 1st. And October 1st.
According to the decision of the Organization committee. Amount in
US dollars will be converted to Reais according to the rates valid
on the application date.
Applications will be available through the World Wide Web, Bank
payments and tourist packs.
THE WORLD EDUCATION FORUM´S LETTER
The construction of the Letter of the Forum, which began on
April the 10th. Is, essentially a participation exercise and its
final objective is to manifest the position of those who deal with
education causes on the globalized world.
During the World Education Forum, the Systemization
Commission will be in constant action. Its assignment is to give a
body to the document that is going to be sent to the closing plenary
sitting, when it may receive contributions from the coordinating
commissions from the Conferences, the Debates and the Reports, as
requested by the partakers. The plenary sitting is going to happen
on the 27th. of October, at 2 PM. With the presence of all enrolled
delegates.
