Subject: | [Dvdrtools-users] Problem with firmware update on hp dvd 200i |
Date: | Fri, 16 May 2003 11:11:38 +0200 |
with my HP dvd 200i I tried a firmware update with
"rpl8" , which is part of the dvd+rw-tools.
First the dump of the current firmware (1.36) was ok :
# ./rpl8 /dev/cdrom -dump-only
"/dev/cdrom": dumping firmware image to "HP______DVD_Writer_200j_1.36.bin"
................................................................
# ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1048576 May 16 09:11 HP______DVD_Writer_200j_1.36.binBut when I try to load again this file , rpl8 complains about the checksum :
]# rpl8 /dev/scd0 HP______DVD_Writer_200j_1.36.bin
"HP______DVD_Writer_200j_1.36.bin" is corrupted or encrypted
What went wrong ?
Is the checksum mechanism in "rpl8" not the same
which is used by HP ?
And next question :
Where can I get the firmware 1.51 of HP as a pure
firmware bin file ( HP only offers exe for Windows ) ?
Thanks for any help ,
Mathias
