Follow-up Comment #6:
This could have been resolved with '--ssh_askpass'. The default for this
kind of key use is for the key pair not to be password protected, thus
--ssh_askpass will cause duplicity to ask for a password where normally it
would not.
BTW, we used to ask for a password in all cases, but there are several cases,
like this, where a password is not normally required, so now the default is to
not ask for a password.
