you have two options..
1. try duplicity 0.7.05 .. it supports selecting the ssh backend via prefix
2. stick w/ 0.6.26 and add
# more duplicity command line options can be added in the following way
# don't forget to leave a separating space char at the end
DUPL_PARAMS="\$DUPL_PARAMS --ssh-backend pexpect "
to the end of your conf file
