Ineed the folder on S3 does not have a "manifest" (or "sigtar") file like i have in a different one. I am 100% sure that i did not erase any file from S3. What even more worries me is that on a different, currently active backup set that i have with over 1000 volumes the manifest file is also missing.

Hi,

After uploading about 500 backup files to S3 using duplicity i can now see that the .cache/duplicity/<backupsetname> is empty.

Last time i used duplicity it did stoped responding (or so it seems) so i killed it. I guess that this is somehow related, but still ...

Any suggestions on what can be done now ? duplicity wants to restart the full backup.

Thanks.
