you can if you want ...

remove the old duplicity from your system first!
get tarball 
http://code.launchpad.net/duplicity/0.6-series/0.6.11/+download/duplicity-0.6.11.tar.gz
unzip, cd folder
run 'python setup.py install'
make sure you have librsync-devel and gcc + friends installed first.
