I assume you have one full and several incrementals.
You could remove all, then do a full backup, at the risk
of not having a backup until it finishes.

Making a full occasionally isn't a bad idea, since otherwise
you have to process all the incrementals during a restore.

Check out the rotation schedule based on that tower game
(used frequently with the BSD backup/restore commands)
if you want some techniques for managing backups.
