I read about this today in two German IT news portals and was really impressed. It is still hard to say how much this implementation offers, but Microsoft seems to have achieved quite a bit.
On the other hand, I find it very frustrating to see how fast they implemented something that we have been working on for years.

On the road Okay... first off... WOW, that's cool. I may give it a shot if it ever sees the light of day. This is one of the reasons why I would love to do an iOS compatibility layer.
