Yes, but how would you feel about a third party renaming your children, and airbrushing history and then holding them out as their own progeny, denying you any rights?

The source was written by me and has never been assigned, yet it sites on the FSF subversion servers marked as being the property of the FSF.  I have not assigned copyright to the source to the FSF, yet many of the source files have been changed to say that they are copyright FSF.

The checked out source comes with the GPLv3, which I have never agreed to and there is no legal basis for anyone other than the author for it to be moved from the LGPL to the GPL.

I feel offended by your request because you have not taken the time or
effort to think through the consequences for the innocent "bystander"
and other contributors.

I have thought through the request.  The consequences are exactly what I aim to achieve.  The statement by rms that started all this not only took a cheap shot at Steve, it referred to me as a fool.  I will not continue to support, help, or stand by quietly while the FSF president decides to insult me and call me names for not being 100% ideologically aligned with their organization. In addition to nfmake I've written lots of non open source software.  Does this also make me a "malign influence"? Will rms be glad when I am gone as well?

The FSF has gone from being an advocate of software freedom by providing and advocating free software, to a organization of zealotry.  The board of the organization through their silence supports the actions of their president, which include disrupting speakers, insulting large swaths of the public and their own supporters. The rhetoric has passed the line of rancor and descended into hostility.

You have made a legal commitment to people like
me who you have never met nor know. I request that you stand by it.

I don't believe their is any legal commitment between myself and you .  And even if it is so found, I put you and the rest of the world on notice that if I could turn back time, I would seek to undo anything I have done that might have helped the FSF.

The actions of the FSF are not only driving people to not contribute, they are creating regret among those who once supported them.
