Some thoughts (without priorities):

1. How to install and run GNUstep on Windows
2. The new Cairo Backend (Cairo - Fred)
3. Applications, Applications, Applications (GAP - Riccardo)
4. How can I contribute to GNUstep?
5. Is there a nice Desktop? (Etoile - Quentin)
5. What do I get from GNUstep what I don't from GTK, Qt, Cocoa,
Android, etc.?
6. (non-)Compatibility to Macintosh and iPhone
7. What and how can I do with (Scalable) OpenGroupWare? (Helge)

Nikolaus

Nikolaus, thank you very much for your proposals.

I would like to add some personal favorites I'd like to see at FOSDEM:

- Some updates about what is going on with Étoilé - I read the blog on http://etoileos.com/news/ from time to time and David's runtime stuff, the Smalltalk Integration, Quentin's CoreObject stuff and all the other things interest me very much. Étoilé guys, are you listening? Maybe you can update the talks of your last hackathon a little bit and (re)present those on FOSDEM this year.

- a talk/discussion about the future of theming in GNUstep - wouldn't FOSDEM be a great opportunity to come closer to a solution?

- an ObjC primer for starters - what is ObjC, how is it related to C, C++, Java and so on. I guess the iPhone and its app store has created new interest in ObjC

- last years recap for GNUstep. GNUstep has developed big time in the last year. What are the most important news and changes?

please feel free to propose additional topics and post them to the list - or even better enter a talk you're going to give here: http:// wiki.gnustep.org/index.php/FOSDEM_2009

If you ain't got an account for the wiki - don't hesitate: send your talk to me and I'll enter it.

regards,

        Lars
