if you -cough cough- use ubuntu, then use gnustep packages even. Those
will pull in the correct dependencies. Most probably you will need
debian packages.If you take the route to compile and install the stuff
yourself, you should be clever enough to tackle some pretty trivial
dependencies. They are usually easy to understand (since configure or
make will fail) or read the instructions on the site which are pretty
comprehensive. Or as in the irc channel.
Since Ubuntu is derived from Debian Unstable, it has the gnustep packages on their own repo. But, like Debian Unstable, the packages are extremely outdated (like I noted no the wiki). Your best bet is to build from scratch. All the dependencies can be gotten from the repos, and are all up-to-date.
