Matt,

I am currently (though admittedly not very actively)
maintaining RIGS. I haven't updated my source tree in
a couple of months. I'll update tonight and make sure
RIGS at least compiles.

As for the object hierarchy, I'm not really qualified
to answer that question, but I'm sure the others can.
