Hi all,

We've a new release of ImageApps. There are no big changes, just a few
improvements.

Download the complete archive with ImageKits and all applications from
here:
http://mac.wms-network.de/gnustep/imageapps/ImageApps-20040302.tar.gz

You can also download the individual parts of ImageApps from here
http://mac.wms-network.de/gnustep/imageapps/imageapps.html

When installing ImageKits, please pay attention to the installation notes (see Documentation/INSTALL). The new version of PDFKit requires freetype2
to be installed. If freetype could not be found, you won't see any text
in PDF documents.

As some things have changed quite heavily in PDFKit, i really would like to know whether it works on your system or not. So if you have problems,
PLEASE sent us a mail. If not, you're welcome to report the success.

Here is what's changed:

Preview: Controls for zooming, fit to width, fit to window, bugfixes

ViewPDF: Uses the new version of PDFKit and thus does not support
ghostscript based rendering any more. Minor bugfixex.

ImageKits: PDFKit is now based on the newest release of xpdf (3.0). The
architecture of xpdf has been redesinged and PDFKit took a
huge benefit from this. The PDFImageRep is now very mature and thus ghostscript rendering has been removed. Rendering is now completly done by xpdf: first, the PDF content is rendered to
a bitmap by xpdf, this bitmap is then used by PDFImageRep.
This approach produces very good results and is also very fast. Furthemore improvments to xpdf would go to PDFKit without much
           effort.

For more detailed informations about what's changed, have a look at
the ChangeLogs.

As ever, suggestions, remarks and patches are welcome

Happy GNUstepping
Stefan, Fabien & Frederic
