 I'm not against portaudio.
I only feel it makes more sense that portaduio will be
an external library as libtiff than in the GNUstep-gui source code.
 Since ./configure can detect portaudio,
 functionally there is no difference,
but it minimize the chance that people complain
they can't compile GNUstep-gui due to portaudio.
And GNUstep don't need to maintain this library
in order to make it compile.
 PortAudio project already maintain it.

Sounds like a fine idea. Can someelse take charge of doing this and submitting patches? It doesn't really work on my machine and I haven't had time to fiddle with it, so I can't really test anything.
