Does Mandrake not have an objective-c package available? I use RedHat, which doesn't install objective-c by default either, but they have a separate RPM which will easily add it. It's called something like gcc-objc. They do it the same way for c++.

Hi,

I have never modified gcc before, so the howto section from gcc.gnu.org:

http://gcc.gnu.org/install/configure.html

is VERY Scary!!

I just want to build the gnustep API to run on my linux box (Mandrake
v8.2). I was able to build the gnustep-make package, but I ran into
problems when I tried to build the gnustep-objc package. I found out that
my Mandrake install didn't include Objective C when it installed gcc.

Since I'm very green at programming, could someone explain in detail how
to add Objective C capabilities to gcc.

Thanks,
