Replying to myself again,
I solved my problem by retaining the filehandle that was returned in the
userInfo of the NSNotification for
NSFileHandleConnectionAcceptedNotification.
This hadn't occurred to me earlier because it worked fine with just one
connection - and I dont really understand why it stopped working with
two - but either way I figured it out.
