Quantrix/Improv are now owned by Sun/IBM and since they are supporting the
Open Source initiative it might be possile to convince the powers that be to
release the source code so we can get them to work with GNUstep.

Sun also owns 
WetPaint/OpenWrite/Quantrix/ParaSheet/VarioBuilder/VarioData/Diagram 
by their purchase of Lighthouse Design. After Lighthouse stopped shipping these
products they release the liscense keys. So it may be possible to convince
them to release the source code.

Unfortunately to get this to work we must find the right person who works
at the above companies and can make the decision or advocate such a release
to the person who can make such a decision.

If anyone has any high level contacts with Sun/IBM it could not possibly hurt
to advance such an idea.

For me, I keep coming back with 5 being a 4. It's so simple, but I won't be 
happy until I can get something like Digital Webster as a service. Is there 
any way we can use our legal copies on the NextStep and OpenStep CD's as the 
data source for a free version? I really got addicted to it when I was 
working on my master's thesis.

I also agree that Quantrix/Improv is great. It's the most promising killer 
app that never caught on. I'm not sure that it would catch on it's third 
incarnation, but I'd use it as my every day spreadsheet in a heart-beat.

Just my 2 cents. 

BTW, I think there are probably a lot of ex-nexters out there on the 
sidelines waiting for 1.0.

When it's out, I think we all may be surprised how quickly it could snowball.

It may be coming together slowly, but it's amazing how much has been done so 
far.
