That is almost certainly the case.

What installation prefix did you have PyBombs use?    I think it will 
have instructed you to use an env.sh, or setupenv.sh, which will
  contain settings of LD_LIBRARY_PATH, PYTHONPATH, etc.  If you simply 
log out, and log back in, and don't run that setup script,
  you may be OK, without having to uninstall the PyBombs-installed stuff.

But I'll point out that GR+friends installed from packages are going to 
be out-of-date, sometimes, spectacularly.
