Whats the version of WX python?

For some reason I am thinking AddStretchSpacer was added in 2.8, and you
may have 2.6 installed. Just a guess...

My version of wxpython that I own is a (2, 6, 3, 2,'').
It is possible that it comes from that.
Do you know what version is recommended for gnuradio 3.6.2?
And what is the cleanest method to install on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
