When you change samples_per_symbol, you aren't changing the sample rate, but instead the divider of sample rate which gives clock for symbol rate.

I am working with the different digital modulators in grc, and I am having
trouble understanding some of the parameters. I don't understand the effect
that the samples/symbol or bits/symbol has on the sampling rate. I would
