changed prefix to /usr instead of default /usr/local

./configure --prefix=/usr

Looks like it's working. Can't verify at the moment.
I think I saw recorded AIS signals somewhere in the web. Should be able to
test package with one of those (if I can find them again).

Should be something like './ais_decode.py -R B -F signal_filename' for
files?
