You can experiment with all of those settings, and I would encourage you to do so in order to get the best performance for your application. The settings we have chosen seem to be a good compromise, but there are so many different uses that there is not one optimum set of settings.
I think maximum linearity mode may cause slightly more current draw, but that won't be a problem.
