[Discuss-gnuradio] Problem connecting USRP2 via Ethernet

Just received USRP2 and trying to connect by ethernet. Here is what happens.

Starting without SD card, it has one little led lit up near ethernet
port, and connecting to several (3 different) ethernet adapters does
show eth0 connected in the system (Ubuntu).

But whenever I insert SD card, or start USRP2 with SD card inserted,
all USRP2 status leds flash for fraction of second but the ethernet
led goes out, and ethernet isn't detectable at any of three ethernet
cards.

This behavior of ethernet led first being lit up and then going out at
SD card insert also occurs when USRP2 is standalone without attempting
wired connection.

The plastic case of SD card has hand-written number 11163, which I
believe might be SD card firmware version number.

Any ideas?
