The basic problem is getting the samples into the computer. A
broadcast FM signal is about 100 kHz wide, so you need to sample it at
at least 200 kS/sec. That's wider than you can do with most audio
cards, so you need a different solution. Hence, the USRP.
Chuck Swiger has built some simple front ends for MW AM. I believe
he's using them with a Basic Rx daughterboard, but they should work
with a bit of tweaking with whatever else you've got.
