At home, using what I think is an identical set up (but obviously is
not) I get the following error message:
Mini:/home/n4hy> python
>>> import wx
string of error messages ending with:
undefined symbol: PyUnicodeUCS4_AsEncodedString
At home and at work, even though I use enable-unicode in the
configuration switch when building, wx-config reports to
wxPython.2.6.1.0 to set unicode to no. Yet under wxPython.2.5......
which comes native to SUSE 9.3, it is the unicode wxPython installed
(its name contains gtk2-unicode) and unicode support is easily tested.
This is all just beginning to get a little maddening since once again, I
have wasted over a day trying to figure out which switches get set
where, reading the documentation without luck, setting the switches
needed.
At work, Gnu Radio runs perfectly with the wxPython2.6.1.0 built using
the KD7LMO build instructions for all tools. At home, all the builds
work, no error messages of any kind, PYTHONHOME's are set identically,
yet I get the UnicodeUCS4 error. If I delete the
/usr/local/lib/python2.4/site-packages dealing with wx, and it reverts
to 2.5 ...., it also imports and runs but I need 2.6.1 for another project.
Can anyone give me a hint to what is going on?
Bob
