Sorry but I am new to software. I am a hardware technician 
engineer. Have USRP main board and one basic RX board.  Have also 
R-8500 (with AGC turned off).  For 600MHz radio astronomy could feed UHF TV 
tuner IF into USRP and use cheap OTS high gain TV antennas.

I am running mandrake on my PC and half way through "UsrpInstall" document from 
internet which has been a struggle for me.

I need the USRP in amplitude modulation (AM) mode only.

I want to be able to change USRP bandwidth and integration times when ever.

How do I program?
