Hi Bob,

This sounds vaguely familiar.  We don't keep the Makefile.in's in
CVS.  They are normally built during the bootstrap script that is run
by ./for-all-dirs.  I'm not sure why it wouldn't be getting built.

What platform / distribution are you building on?
