Yes, they would.  IIRC in the archives the discussion referred
to the RSP's by their generic name: digital downconverter or DDC.

Ultimately you still need some way to get the output of the RSP into
the PC.  E.g., across the PCI bus, USB, firewire, ethernet, etc.
