I just received the March/April issue of QEX, which is the ARRL's
technical journal. There are two design series being published that
might be of interest to this list.
1) A High Performance Digital Transceiver Design
Gerald Youngblood, AC5OG
This is a narrow Bandwidth (40 kHz or so) low frequency (300 kHz to 54
MHz receive, ham band transmit) transceiver. This is a multi-part
series, and is light on theory, heavy on schematics. This might be a
good read for the software oriented folks on the list.
2) A High Performance Digital Transceiver Design
James Scarlett, KD7O
This is a similar series, with perhaps a bit more theory than the
other one.
Copies are available from www.arrl.org, but at this point the series
are not finished yet. I'm not sure how long the series will be.
Two more Ham radio references are: www.tapr.org and www.amrad.org
