"colors" fail on one CentOS/ppc64le machine,
but that might be due to environment/setup issue (log attached).

On NetBSD 7.1, the test "new-file" hangs.
Trying the exact same command interactively does not hang:
$ echo a > a
$ ./src/diff -N - a <&- > out ; echo $?
1
So I'm not sure what's going on, and it's likely not a show-stopper.
