I'm afraid that's the new normal :( the Gtk folk decided in their
wisdom that people shouldn't be able to control how quickly they pop
up, which when they are used copiously makes them unusable. So what you
have in newer versions of Denemo is a custom-built system for tooltips,
 which could be improved. Once you are over the newbie stage use Edit-
>Change Preferences to make the tooltips *very* slow to appear, they
will be less irksome and yet still available when really needed by
waiting long enough.
