Maybe not; it looks like @anchor{} allows @xref and friends to work to
alias names, but doesn't add entries to the menu, and 'info' is using
just menu names for its shorthand. I don't know [tex]info well enough
to know if what I'm suggesting is even feasible, only that I've used
@anchor in the past when renaming nodes in order to keep the rest of the
manual working where it uses @xref.
