sableVM: website is dead.

Hi Thomas,

If the page was down when you tried to access it, it was probably a temporary university-wide (UQAM) network problem as UQAM is currently major restructuring of its network.

SableVM is very much alive! Please try again visiting http://sablevm.org and subscribe to the mailing-lists. You will definitely get answers to questions on the user or developer mailing lists. try: http://sablevm.org/lists/sablevm-devel/

The following message from Grzegorz Prokopski, one of the leaders of the project, will probably interest you:
http://sablevm.org/lists/sablevm-devel/2004-November/000223.html

You can also talk to us in real-time on IRC:
server: irc.sablevm.org
channel: #sablevm
But Grzegorz is in vacation until Dec. 19, and I am preparing exams and marking assignments (end of term), so activity might be low for the few upcoming days.

So, what do you guys use? Please provide a cooperative download with your choice VM(s) so people can actually get started. The 'download' page seems like a good point for this, since downloading classpath itself is pointless without a JVM, right?

I definitely use SableVM. :-) It works on many, many platforms, has robust code, etc. If you need any assistance, ask for help on the appropriate (user/developer) SableVM mailing list.

Have fun!

Etienne
