Could you check if this applies to the egg's version?
The reference implementation is unchanged in this instance.
Should be straightforward to modify the srfi-19-io to compensate for
the trailing '.0', but the various pieces of the 'number->string'
family, as you imply, might be the better stop.
Please file as a SRFI-19 bug.
