[Chicken-users] Bootstrapping VC++

How do I bootstrap using VC++?  I've built the Chicken 2.0 tarball using 
the full retail version of VC++ 7.1.  The toolkit version failed for 
some reason.  I'm not using Chicken 2.2 because it doesn't build with 
VC++.  Updates of the tarballs so that it builds with VC++ would be welcome.

I've got the darcs repository, but README.darcs says nothing about how 
one would bootstrap with VC++.  Also I am unclear on how vcbuild.bat and 
makefile.vc are generated.  Are they just done by manual labor?
