That looks pretty cool! Have you seen the protocol that Jabber uses?
It kind of reminds me of that... Jabber lets you pass general XML
messages from endpoint to endpoint, and has a framework for routing
messages and registering services and extensions... More heavyweight
than SCOP seems to be, but IMO not much more difficult to work with: I
wrote a simple Scheme Jabber client library in about four hours - it's
a simple enough protocol.
