 chicken seems to go into an endless loop when attempting to compile nemo.

 To reproduce this behavior, just try
 {{{
 $ chicken-install nemo
 }}}

 using a recent chicken from git.

 I'm not sure if it is really an endless loop or some operation that takes
 a very long time to be performed (I haven't wait until the end).

 By bisecting, I found that fe80ccfa8ce886c220b699211991c6a81fea50da may be
 the culprit.
