Hi Lemon,
You're right, that was certainly not intentional but that procedure does
my head in so I'm not a bit surprised.
I've opened #1384 since I'm not even sure the fixed behaviour is what we
really want in all situations, and there are a few other areas we could
try to simplify file resolution while we're at it.
