Now, the only confusing thing remaining is: that scrolling doesn't
stop at the end of an index.

The idea is to have a default mode that is easy on newbies, which
differs from both Emacs and vi. Emacs users probably won't like
the different default binding of the PageUp/PageDown keys either,
so there should probably be an option --emacs-mode that switches
'info' back to the default Emacs key bindings.
By the way, why was the following change made:
- N_("\\%-10[beginning-of-node] Go to the beginning of this node.\n"),
+ N_("\\%-10[beginning-of-node] Go to the beginning this node.\n"),
Also by the way, I think that the addition of "[*] Command acts
within this node or the entire document, depending on the value of
cursor-movement-scrolls variable" is somewhat overkill for a concise
list of commands.
It is probably better to keep TAB and M-TAB together, and mention
RET after it. Or leave M-TAB out altogether, as no one will know
how to type it without an explanation.
